The students gave excellent performances, ululating and welcoming the educators into the auditorium:
The Programme Director for the day was Dr Sedise Moseneke.
Dr Kgaogelo Mokoka
The speakers for the day included (amongst others): Advocate Simmy Lebala, Mr Tiego Moseneke (Chairman Encha Group) and the Commissioner of Police Riah Phiyega.
My Favourite Educator Awards - The Kgomotso Tebogo Isaac Ditshego Award is in recognition of favourite educators chosen by students. It is dedicated to the memory of many young people who were ruthlessly gunned down in 1976. They died fighting so that we, the generation of today can study in a free and fair South Africa.

Let us never forget.
The Ideal Educator Awards - The W.F. Nkomo Award is in recognition of ideal educators, chosen by fellow educators. It is dedicated to the memory of many fearless educational and humanitarian legends who came before us. They were dedicated to educating the African child beyond the classroom, healing them beyond medical surgery while fighting for their right to belong in the land of their forefathers.

Let us not forget.
The English Excellence Awards - The T. M. Ledwaba Award is in recognition of educators whose students achieved distinctions in the English Language. It is dedicated to educators of yesterday who, in spite of the challenges of an antagonistic education system, chose to teach the African child to speak and write the language of the coloniser, so that we, today, can express our hopes and dreams with eloquence and persuasion.

Let us not forget.
The Mathematics Excellence Awards - The S.S. Maboa Award is in recognition of educators whose students achieved distinctions in mathematics. Former President of South Africa H.F.Verword asked: “What is the use of teaching the bantu child mathematics when it cannot use it in practice?” This award is dedicated to educators who made him turn in his grave as African children became doctors, accountants, actuaries, and engineers to name just a few of many of the numbers-related careers.

Let us not forget.
The History Excellence Awards - The J.S.H.L Award is in recognition of educators whose students achieved distinctions in History. This award is dedicated to educators who have taken time to paint the canvas of history, to remind all of us how we have come to be here, in case we forget the brush strokes of history on who we are.

Let us not forget.
The Legendary Awards were given to honour the retired principals for their contribution to the Education System and their Society.
Last but not least, The School of the Year Award was awarded to Dr W. F. Nkomo Secondary School for the school's excellent academic achievements in the past year. The school was given the honour of housing The SJS Moseneke Educational Foundation Tree.
