We have learnt, with shock, disbelief and sadness, about the passing away of Dr Thabo Kgogo. Dr Kgogo, who held a Doctoral degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London, was a highly trained and world class Engineer and a competent business leader. Between 2014 until 2019 he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Efora Energy Ltd (formerly SacOil Holdings Ltd). Importantly to the Encha family, he was an honest and dependable colleague and business partner. He shared Encha’s love for South Africa and Africa, as well as the vision for the development of her people. His death is most untimely. We have been robbed of the opportunity to realise the full potential of our cooperation and friendship. We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife, his young family and the Kgogo clan, as well as to his colleagues and other business associates. Dr Kgogo will be sorely missed.

Encha founded SacOil in 2007 and successfully listed it on the Main Board of the JSE Ltd’s Securities Exchange, as well as on the AIM Board of the London Stock Exchange. SacOil rebranded as Efora in November 2017, to align its brand to its strategy of operating assets across the energy value chain. Encha remains an enthusiastic investor and stakeholder in the business activities of Efora.
